Lens 0-2 PSG: Mbappé seals win as leaders go 8 points clear – Player Ratings

Lens’ home ground, the Stade Bollaert, has historically been a challenging venue for PSG. However, the league leaders prevailed in this encounter against a resurgent Lens side. The hosts’ high pressing caused problems early on, earning them a penalty that was ultimately saved.

Lens had their fair share of chances on the counter, but it was PSG who broke the deadlock with a well-executed counterattack, courtesy of Barcola. Just before half-time, PSG’s advantage was further solidified as Jonathan Gradit was sent off for a foul on Mbappé.

Despite being down to 10 men, Lens kept themselves in the game until a late PSG counterattack resulted in Mbappé securing the victory. With their immediate rivals faltering, Lens’ hopes of European qualification remain intact, and coach Franck Haise will be pleased with his team’s spirited response to the red card.

As for PSG, they now enjoy an 8-point lead at the top of the table, and their front three of Barcola, Mbappé, and Dembélé showcased their potency. The question now is whether they can replicate their counterattacking success in European competitions.
