Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly preparing for the potential departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid. According to Football España, Mbappe is expected to decide on his future in the coming weeks, and PSG is not overly confident about retaining him. As a result, PSG has identified Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford as a potential replacement.
In fact, PSG had considered recruiting Rashford since 2022 but shelved the idea when Mbappe decided to stay. This indicates that the French club has always been prepared for a scenario without Mbappe.
However, Rashford’s current form raises concerns, as he has scored only five goals in 27 appearances for Manchester United this season, far fewer than Mbappe’s 28 goals in 27 matches for PSG.
Despite Rashford’s recent struggles, PSG believes in his talent and sees similarities in his playing style to Mbappe’s. This choice could signal hope for Real Madrid to have a significant opportunity to sign Mbappe this summer.
For Real Madrid, reports suggest they are contemplating building a new attacking trio with Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and Vinicius Junior. However, the outcome of this deal remains uncertain and will only become clear at the end of the current season.
