Bobb, whose contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2026, scored his first Premier League goal last month at St James’ Park during Manchester City’s crucial 3-2 comeback victory against Newcastle United. The last-minute goal also happened to win Premier League Goal of the Month.

After making his Manchester City debut in early September at the Etihad Stadium against Fulham, the Norwegian was given his senior international debut in October.

In addition to making 16 appearances for the Sky Blues so far this season, Bobb scored his first goal in the UEFA Champions League in December’s 3-2 victory over Red Star Belgrade.

Despite intense interest from around Europe to buy the 20-year-old during the summer transfer window, City decided to hold onto the forward, and the club also decided to sell Cole Palmer to Chelsea based on Bobb’s progress.

After an amazing debut season in professional football, Bobb was given his first Premier League start against Brentford last Tuesday. Etihad officials are also getting ready to offer the Norwegian a new long-term contract.

According to Football Insider, Bobb and Manchester City are currently in “advanced talks” about new terms. As part of the improved agreement, Bobb will receive a “big-money” compensation increase.

The winger is regarded as a “key” component of Guardiola’s long-term ambitions for the team and will reportedly have “increased responsibilities” as well.

After Bobb’s goal against Newcastle last month, Guardiola stated that the 20-year-old is “highly regarded” at Manchester City.

Oscar Bobb was by far the greatest player in the Under 23s, Txiki Begilistain told me at the end of the previous season. “Okay, (he’ll) go to Japan (on our summer tour) to start to train with us,” Guardiola remarked.

Erling Haaland, Bobb’s international teammate, is scheduled to speak with Manchester City about a new contract as the squad looks to capitalize on Real Madrid’s increased interest in the striker.

Haaland’s current contract features a release clause that is shortly to become activated. Haaland has been linked to a possible La Liga move.
