Kyle Walker, the captain of Manchester City, praised “snιper” Phil Foden after his brace helped the team overcome Manchester United 3–1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Eleven minutes after halftime, Foden equalized Marcus Rashford’s outstanding first-half goal with a well-taken own goal.
The playmaker, who was born in Stockport, added another goal in the eighty-first minute, and in stoppage time, Erling Haaland completed the victory in the Manchester derby.
“You know when he comes in on his left foot…we call him the snιper, because he likes to shoot,” Walker said to Sky Sports when questioned about Foden’s incredible equalizer.

“He enjoys taking shots, so when he enters on that left foot, you know he has the skill, poise, and composure to pick his spot. I thought he did a fantastic job finishing the goal.”
Following that, Foden moved to the left side, where he scored his second goal and gave City a significant boost in their Premier League title push.
“The second, probably coming off the left-hand side, you don’t really see Phil in that position, but I think that just shows his flexibility,” Walker continued.
This year, he’s even been trusted down the center, which is another indication of his increased responsibilities, in my opinion. We depend on him, and we require key players such as him.
“He enjoys taking shots, practices, works hard, and never stops shooting.” He needs to maintain these standards since his goals are being met and he is starting to see the benefits.

“I believe he has been nothing less than exceptional this season. That is the bar he sets for himself, that is the bar we, as his manager, Pep Guardiola, set for him, and that is the bar he must now meet.
Foden, who has scored 18 goals for City this season in all competitions, stated: “That’s my aim, to turn up in the big games.”
I believe that this season is showing me that’s what I want to accomplish. All I have to do is maintain putting in those kinds of performances and working hard оn the training field.
“A derby at the Etihad means everything to me, and I understand what it means for the fans.” Although scoring more is always preferable, winning was the most crucial outcome for today.

Manager Erik ten Hag was punished for his response on the touchline as United protested in vain that Walker had fouled Rashford just prior to Foden’s opening goal.
When asked about the event, Walker responded, “I don’t know; I didn’t think there was much in it. I haven’t looked back at it.”
“I most likely did what I always do, which is to put my arm around somebody. It’s kind of sod’s law, isn’t it, but the referee has seen it and has verified it on the VAR, so they just have to accept it as such. We have also gone up the other end.
