Despite their missed opportunities, the Boys in Green showcased an encouraging performance in John O’Shea’s debut game as interim manager. Evan Ferguson’s mishandled penalty kick was a notable missed chance in the match.

Kelleher, who started ahead of Gavin Bazunu due to his recent success with Liverpool, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, highlighting the solid foundation, clean slate, and the creation of several opportunities.

Although they believe they could have had more, the missed penalty left a lasting impression. Nevertheless, the team remains content with their positive start under John’s leadership. Kelleher felt they performed well throughout the match, particularly in the first half where they were in control and created numerous opportunities.

Despite being called into action to make a save against Thomas Meunier’s close-range effort, Kelleher was pleased not to be too busy on the night.
