Michael Lamar Porter Jr., an American basketball prodigy, was born on June 29, 1998. He began his professional NBA journey when the Denver Nuggets selected him as the 14th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. Prior to his NBA career, Porter attended Father Regional Catholic High School in Columbia, Missouri, where he showcased his basketball prowess, leading the team to victory in the 2A State Championship.

During his senior year, he transferred to Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, Washington. In March 2017, Porter’s talent earned him a spot in the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Game, where he was named the Most Valuable Player.

That same year, he represented Team USA in the 2017 Nike Hoop Summit, contributing 19 points to lead his team to a 98-87 victory over the World Select Team. Following his high school career, Porter joined the University of Missouri in March 2017, competing in the 2018 NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament. Despite his efforts, Missouri fell short against Florida State. Subsequently, on March 27, 2017, Porter decided to forego his college eligibility and declared for the 2018 NBA draft.
