Darwin Nunez proved he is one of the Premier League ‘bad boys’ on Sunday after Liverpool beat Brighton and Hove Albion to go two points clear at the top of the table.

Liverpool faced off against the Seagulls a few hours ahead of other title contenders, Manchester City and Arsenal, who played out a dull and goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium.

Lucky boy of the day

Roberto De Zerbi’s team quickly took the lead within two minutes, prompting Liverpool to retaliate with goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah. The Reds managed to hold on and secure maximum points.

However, the Premier League title race is still wide open, and the remaining weeks of the season will determine the eventual winners of the English top-flight division this year.

Nunez makes ball boy’s day

Nunez featured for 83 minutes in the match before being substituted for Harvey Elliott, who played out the final 13 minutes at Anfield. As highlighted by Rising Ballers, the Uruguayan forward made the day of a fortunate ball boy by giving him his match-worn shirt.

As seen in another social media post, the 24-year-old, upon being substituted and walking off the pitch, noticed a fan’s placard in the crowd requesting his shirt. He then turned away to give it to the boy instead.

The incident sparked mixed reactions on social media. According to Mirror UK, some viewed it as an inspiring moment for the boy, while others suggested that Nunez may not have understood the English written on the placard.
