Suffered 2 more injuries during practice. Man United faces difficulties before the match against Chelsea

Manchester United will travel to Stamford Bridge for their Premier League encounter with Chelsea on Thursday, further depleted by injuries to Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof.

Lisandro Martinez

Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez of Manchester United will remain sidelined for at least another month due to new injuries. Martinez, who had been absent since early February, made a comeback against Brentford last weekend. Initially starting from the bench, he came on in the second half to replace Lindelof, who suffered a hamstring injury.

A club statement confirming the news, read: “Manchester United centre-backs Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for at least a month due to muscle injuries.”

Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Anthony Martial are all sidelined and will be absent from the journey to west London.

Erik ten Hag is set to address the media next on Wednesday, providing updates on players like Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans, as Manchester United grapples with a defensive crisis.

Throughout a season marked by underperformance, injuries have plagued United. With nine league fixtures remaining and an Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City later this month, they are facing significant challenges.

Currently positioned sixth in the Premier League and trailing Aston Villa by 11 points, United still have a game in hand.
