Over the past week, MLB teams have kicked off their season with Spring Training in Arizona and Florida. One of the first players to arrive was Los Angeles Angels pitcher and designated hitter Shohei Ohtani.
The 2x All-Star showed up at the Angels practice facility over a week ago, sporting New Balance gear from head to toe.
Ohtani wore the NB Essentials Stacked Logo long-sleeve crewneck shirt, which is currently marked down to $44 on the brand’s website. Ohtani completed the ensemble with a black hat, joggers, and new pair of lifestyle sneakers.
Ohtani wore a newly-released pair of kicks that have taken off in popularity over the past few months. Below is everything fans must know about the New Balance 9060 sneakers.

A detailed look at the New Balance 9060.
New Balance
Ohtani wore the New Balance 9060 in the ‘Black and White’ colorway. The newly-released shoes are still available for $150 on the New Balance website.
The colorway features a black mesh upper with white pigskin suede overlays. Red appears on the diamond-shaped outsole and the tongue logo, which is inspired by the original 991 lace jewel.
According to the product description, “the 9060 reinterprets familiar elements sourced from classic 99X models with a warped sensibility inspired by the proudly futuristic, visible tech aesthetic of the Y2K era.”
The New Balance 9060 is one of our favorite lifestyle sneakers on the market, and it’s unsurprising to see professional athletes in every sport opting to wear the unmistakable model. With the new season underway, FanNation Kicks cannot wait to see what other heat Ohtani plans to wear on and off the field.
