Manchester United is set for a major overhaul this summer, with 12 stars reportedly on the chopping block under the club’s new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The Red Devils have endured a tumultuous 2023/24 season and are likely to undergo significant changes this summer. Omar Berrada has been appointed as CEO, alongside Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox expected to join the board.
Most recently, Sporting Director John Murtough departed by mutual agreement, and manager Erik ten Hag is at risk of being sacked at the end of the current season. It’s highly probable that some players will also be allowed to leave.
Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst revealed that several high-profile names will depart this summer, with Raphael Varane and Johnny Evans leading the way.
Tom Heaton, Anthony Martial, and Brandon Williams will all be out of contract in the summer of 2024. Meanwhile, Donny van de Beek, Alvaro Fernandez, Jadon Sancho, Facundo Pellistri, Hannibal Mejbri, and Mason Greenwood are unlikely to be retained after loan spells in the 2023/24 season. Sofyan Amrabat will be returned to Fiorentina after an unimpressive loan spell.
According to FourFourTwo’s perspective, it’s reasonable for all these players to leave Manchester United in the summer of 2024, ahead of a major overhaul at Old Trafford.
Also, according to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, Man United is looking to bring in 6 new players in the summer 2024 transfer window.
