I went to my son’s first baseball practice today in the Louisville area. Last year he was the only one wearing any Reds gear. This year 8 of the 12 kids were wearing Reds hats, shirts, and/or wristbands. They went around and said their favorite players, and all 8 kids said Elly De La Cruz. I know he is still raw and is frustrating sometimes, but if you don’t have young kids it’s easy to underestimate the impact he is having on kids because stuff like tonight is making a generation of kids into Reds fans.
