Shohei Ohtani Shares a Memorable Moment with Fan Who Caught the First Dodgers Home Run Ball

The Dodgers have officially made things right.

On Friday, with the Dodgers finally back at Dodger Stadium after a week-long road trip, Shohei Ohtani met with the fan who caught his first home run ball. Ambar Roman, who told Dodgers Nation last week that she felt pressured to give up the home run ball in exchange for a pretty small reward, clearly got the reward she deserved.

Roman got to meet Ohtani and take pictures with the Dodgers superstar, and was holding a signed bat, ball and hat. It’s unclear if this signed merchandise is new or the original ones she got for catching the ball.

Roman posted two pictures on her X with the caption, “BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!”

Roman also sent out this message in which she said she got to shake Ohtani’s hand: “Just shook Ohtani’s hand.. Never washing my hand again.”

The Dodgers received a lot of backlash for the situation that transpired after Roman caught the ball. However, they said they would invite her back to make things right, and on Friday, they did just that.

Roman, who spoke to Dodgers Nation last week in a 12-minute interview that you can watch here, seems very happy with the reward she received for catching Ohtani’s first home run with the Dodgers.
