Diogo Dalot expressed disappointment with the defensive errors made by Manchester United against Bournemouth.
Once again, Manchester United’s defense disappointed fans as they conceded two goals in the first half against Bournemouth. In this match, the “Red Devils” endured 20 shots, a familiar sight in recent times.
After the match, defender Diogo Dalot admitted that Manchester United’s defense had made mistakes. He hopes his teammates will play more securely and narrow the gaps between the lines in the future.
When asked about United’s high number of shots conceded, Dalot said: “That’s one of our concerns. Perhaps we need to play closer together, not leaving too much space between the defenders and midfielders. Sometimes those spaces help the opponents counterattack better. That’s something we need to improve because things aren’t good enough for the club’s standards right now.
“We’ve shown belief throughout the season, coming back from disappointing moments. Too many times this season. We need to control more. We’ve lost control too many times. That’s the goal for the next matches.”
When asked about individual errors by players, Dalot said: “That has happened in recent matches. We don’t look at who’s to blame, but we know that at this level, if you make a mistake, the opponent is sharp enough to score.
“Mistakes are part of life. What matters is how we react in the next match. That’s something we have to overcome. We need to take responsibility and avoid mistakes in the upcoming matches. That’s the challenge for us.”
