Alexis Mac Allister voted Liverpool’s Player of the Month for March

The No.10 clinches his inaugural Reds career award, leading the poll on Liverpoolfc.com. He surpasses Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, who secure second and third positions respectively.

Mac Allister showcased remarkable performance for Jürgen Klopp’s squad, notching three goals and as many assists from his five starts during the period.

Upon collecting the prize at the AXA Training Centre, the 25-year-old said: “Thank you very much, it is a nice feeling. And I want to thank the fans for voting for me for this trophy.

“It’s something nice, but at the same time it’s thanks to my teammates because they played an important role.”

In March, Mac Allister kicked off with a pivotal moment, delivering a cross in the 99th minute that Darwin Nunez deftly flicked in, securing Liverpool a thrilling Premier League win against Nottingham Forest.

Continuing his impressive streak, he confidently converted penalties against Sparta Prague and Manchester City, followed by a goal in the Emirates FA Cup clash against Manchester United.

Wrapping up the month, the midfielder dazzled with a standout performance against his former club, Brighton & Hove Albion, earning the Carlsberg Player of the Match award. During this game, he orchestrated Mohamed Salah’s decisive second-half goal.

Asked for his favourite moments of the month, the Argentinian said: “There are two moments that I will never forget.

“One is the penalty against Man City in an important game. I had to take the responsibility and I really like to take pens. So that was an important moment.

“And then the assist for Darwin against Nottingham – I think it was special for everyone. So, these two moments.”

Mac Allister’s standout performances in March extended into the early days of April when he delivered a spectacular finish into the Kop-end during the 3-1 victory over Sheffield United.
