What happened?

Mohamed Salah has just over a year left on his contract with Liverpool. A club in Saudi Arabia has reportedly pursued him and is willing to offer £200 million to acquire the Egyptian star.

Former Liverpool player Jose Enrique believes that this summer is the perfect time for Mohamed Salah to leave Anfield as manager Jurgen Klopp has announced his departure. Additionally, The Kop should take advantage of the opportunity to secure a large sum of money as Salah only has 1 year left on his contract.

What Jose Enrique said?

Sharing with Grosvenor Sport, former Spanish defender Jose Enrique stated: “If the right offer comes in, I think Salah will leave. I believe he really tried to leave Liverpool last summer. The Arab club made a £200 million offer, and they are genuinely serious!”

“Jurgen Klopp is leaving, so this is the perfect time for Salah to leave the club. A new era is coming, and there will be many changes. Therefore, leaving is completely suitable for Mo Salah. This could be Salah’s last big contract in his career. I think he will go to Saudi Arabia.”

Jose Enrique also recommends some potential replacements for Liverpool if Salah leaves the club this summer. He further stated: “Mohammed Kudus is someone I think could replace Salah. I mentioned this last summer, and the truth is he’s playing very well at West Ham. Liverpool could also consider Ebere Eze from Crystal Palace.”

“Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich is a feasible option because he’s having contract extension issues there. Sane is a name that Liverpool should include in their transfer target list.”

Liverpool’s schedule?

Liverpool’s ambitions of achieving a treble this season have suffered a severe blow as they unexpectedly suffered a 0-3 defeat at home to Atalanta in the Europa League. Following that, Jurgen Klopp’s team once again stumbled in the Premier League title race, losing 0-1 to Crystal Palace.

The Kop will have to put in maximum effort to stage a remarkable comeback on Italian soil. The second leg of the Europa League quarter-final between Atalanta and Liverpool will take place on the evening of April 18th.
