The Metro quotes Erik ten Hag’s positive remarks ahead of the FA Cup semi-final.
Antony was absent from Manchester United’s draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League due to a muscle injury. However, Antony has trained normally this week and seems likely to return to Ten Hag’s first team.
Meanwhile, Scott McTominay has been sidelined with a knee injury since the dramatic defeat to Chelsea on April 4th. The midfielder has missed the club’s last two matches and has been stepping up his recovery in recent days.
McTominay is certainly eager to be involved at Wembley on Sunday, so he will need to undergo a fitness test for the first time in full training today. When asked to provide updates on these two players during the press conference ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry, Ten Hag told reporters:
Both McTominay and Antony are sidelined due to injury.
“Regarding Antony and McTominay, I hope they will return. McTominay has not trained the whole week, partly. Today, I expect them to return to full training. Meanwhile, Antony has trained the whole week.”
If they defeat Coventry, Man Utd will face either Manchester City or Chelsea in the final. Last season, the Red Devils finished as runners-up in the FA Cup after a defeat to Man City.
