The Reds have been in search of a new manager ever since Klopp made it public that he would quit the club at the end of the current season. They have been linked with several coaches in the past few months, with Sporting CP’s Amorim being considered the favourite to replace the outgoing German coach.

Results indicated that 41% of respondents favored Gerrard taking the helm, with Xabi Alonso and Zinedine Zidane following closely behind at 18% and 8%, respectively. While Gerrard was once considered a potential future manager for Liverpool, his coaching performance in recent years has caused a significant decline in his reputation. The former England international currently manages Saudi Pro League team Al-Shabab, who are experiencing difficulties, currently occupying the ninth position with 35 points from 28 matches.

Klopp’s side will be next seen in action on Wednesday as they take on rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby in the Premier League.
