The dream showdown between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final concluded with a dramatic 2-2 draw.

Leroy Sane and Harry Kane took turns scoring for the Bavarian giants, while both goals for the White Vultures belonged to Vinicius Junior.

This result ended Bayern Munich’s streak of three consecutive losses against Real Madrid at their home ground, Allianz Arena, in the most prestigious stage of European football.

However, Real Madrid holds a slight advantage heading into the rematch at Santiago Bernabeu on the night of May 8.

With what both teams have shown, the second leg between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich promises to be highly captivating and tense.

In the recently concluded match at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich was the better team early on, creating numerous threatening chances against Real Madrid’s goal.

Leroy Sane had the clearest opportunity with a face-to-face shot in the 40th second after a pass from Harry Kane, but couldn’t beat goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

Despite the attacking prowess and missed chances, the home team was unexpectedly struck by a former player, Toni Kroos.

In the 24th minute, the German midfielder executed a perfect pass from midfield, setting up Vinicius Junior to calmly beat goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and score the opening goal, putting Real Madrid ahead 1-0.

After Vinicius’s goal, both teams continued to attack and created notable chances, but no further goals were scored in the first half.

In the second half, Real Madrid performed better and had a dangerous opportunity in the 51st minute with a powerful shot from Toni Kroos, but goalkeeper Neuer made an excellent save.

Right after this play, Bayern Munich responded vigorously and continuously threatened the goal of the Spanish giants.

In the 53rd minute, Leroy Sane confidently dribbled from the right flank straight into Real Madrid’s penalty area and unleashed a decisive shot into the near corner, beating goalkeeper Lunin to equalize 1-1 for Bayern.

Just three minutes later, the referee awarded Bayern Munich a penalty after Lucas Vázquez fouled Jamal Musiala while trying to stop his dribble inside the box.

From the penalty spot, forward Harry Kane had no trouble deceiving goalkeeper Lunin, scoring a goal to give Bayern Munich a 2-1 lead in the 57th minute.

The consecutive goals by Bayern made the match even more exciting. The Bavarians continued to increase pressure in hopes of extending their lead, while Real Madrid sought an equalizing goal.

Many dangerous situations were created by players from both teams in front of each other’s goals, but none could make the difference.

It wasn’t until the 81st minute that Real Madrid had a clear opportunity after Kim Min-jae fouled Rodrygo inside the box. Referee Clement Turpin immediately pointed to the penalty spot.

From the 11-meter distance, Vinicius Junior also easily beat goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, completing a brace in this match to help Real Madrid equalize 2-2.

The 2-2 result remained the final outcome of this match, bringing hopes for another exciting encounter between the two teams at the Bernabeu in two weeks’ time.

The ticket to Wembley for the Champions League final is still evenly split between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. The White Vultures hold the advantage in the second leg as they play at home. However, the Bavarian giants also have reasons to be confident in securing progression.
