Shohei Ohtani was at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala yesterday and he did his best to dress to impress. Unfortunately, his suit didn’t wind up impressing many and it resulted in one joke being repeated on social media all night.

Fans notice that the suit Ohtani wore to the gala was a little bit big or at least not properly fitting. Many jokes ensued, with some even joking that due to the scandal involving his former translator stealing a ton of money from him, he can’t afford to get a tailor anymore.

“Ippei drained this man of all his money now he can’t afford a tailor,” one user wrote.

“Whose suit is he borrowing?” joked another.

“how did they manage to find clothes 3 sizes too big for a 6’4 240 pound beast built like superman?” a third joked.

“He looks like he’s trying to sneak into a rated R movie,” wrote a fourth.

At the plate, Shohei Ohtani has given the Dodgers everything they could ask for. He’s enjoying a career-high .336 batting average and leads Major League Baseball in doubles and total bases. Ohtani’s OPS is 1.017 right now.

Even so, the whole situation with former translator Ippei Mizuhara has cast Ohtani in a pretty negative light that some people are just itching to see impact him on the field.

That hasn’t happened yet but you never know.
