According to Daily Mail, rumors about Darwin Nunez leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2024 continue to increase with the striker’s latest move.
The £85 million striker of Liverpool continues to have a season of ups and downs. Nunez has faced considerable criticism for his wastefulness in front of goal. The patience of The Kop fans with this striker has dwindled, as hopes for delivering a fairytale ending to Jurgen Klopp fade away.
Can Nunez leave Liverpool?
Rumors have surfaced that Liverpool may seek to sell Nunez in the summer of 2024, and Nunez has fueled this speculation with his latest move. Specifically, the Uruguayan international has deleted all images of himself playing for Liverpool from his official Instagram page. All that remains are images of him, his family, and photos of the striker playing for Benfica and Uruguay.
According to reports from The Sun, Barcelona believes Nunez has the ability to replace Robert Lewandowski, and is willing to meet Liverpool’s asking price for the Uruguayan forward.
Nunez is one of the highest-paid players at Anfield, but his wages – reportedly around £140,000 per week – would still be significantly lower than the salary Lewandowski currently earns.
