The competition for next season’s Premier League title is intensifying, and it’s not just about the on-field action. Manchester City and Liverpool have invested significant sums to acquire two of the most promising strikers in football.
But it’s not just the fees for 21-year-old Norwegian hotshot Erling Haaland and Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez, 22, that are turning heads.
Female fans have been paying special attention to the stars’ ripped torsos – which neither are shy of showing off.
Grant Rollings takes a look at the men whose goals could bring the big trophies.

Even prior to joining the affluent Manchester City, Erling was accustomed to a life of luxury. The towering 6ft 5in blond, dubbed “The Terminator,” regularly travels by private jet, employs a personal fitness trainer and chef, and is rumored to have left a £25,000 tip after spending £400,000 at a restaurant while vacationing in Greece.
Upon departing from the German club Borussia Dortmund to make his move to the Premier League this week, the generous athlete gifted each of his 33 teammates Rolex watches valued at £12,000 each.
However, as City’s current top earner, reportedly bringing in £375,000 per week, he has the financial means to do so.
With an impressive record of 62 goals in 67 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, the striker attracted interest from top clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, and both Manchester teams.
Erling’s father, former footballer Alf-Inge, and his agent engaged in discussions with some of Europe’s wealthiest club chairmen to determine which club could offer the most appealing deal to the Norwegian sensation.
Despite the lucrative offers, Erling emphasizes that he chose to join the Premier League champions to collaborate with manager Pep Guardiola and because of his longstanding admiration for the club since childhood.
Born in Leeds while his father played for the local club, Erling later witnessed his father’s stint at Manchester City, further solidifying his connection to the team.
He said: “I was born in England. I have been a City fan my whole life. I know a lot about the club. I feel at home here.”
But he was also once snapped in an Arsenal kit and The Sun can reveal he told a Norwegian newspaper five years ago: “My dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.”
Sport is in Erling’s genes. As well as having a footballer dad, his mum, Gry Marita Braut, was a Norwegian heptathlon champion.
Growing up in the small town of Bryne, he was also impressive at the long jump, handball and golf.
The lanky athlete, who has an older brother Astor and sister Gabrielle, has gone to great lengths to build up his physique, eating 4,000 calories a day.
Erling is single at the moment and is said to prefer to focus on football.
In fact, so obsessed is the Norwegian that he wakes up every morning to the sound of the Champions League anthem.
