Once Diogo Jota wraps up his football career, he might consider pursuing a role as a zookeeper, given his time spent interacting with exotic animals in Dubai. However, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker isn’t too thrilled about the idea, as Jota has already discovered during the winter break.

While many players opted for relaxation during their time off, Jota took a different approach by visiting Rashed Belhasa’s exclusive zoo in Dubai. Known as Money Kicks, Belhasa’s residence is renowned for its collection of exotic animals, often attracting visits from footballers.
Jota was all smiles as he posed for photos alongside a large bear and even draped an enormous snake around his neck. The 25-year-old also had the chance to feed a giraffe, handle a baby crocodile, and interact with monkeys during his visit to the Dubai site.
Sharing his unforgettable experience with the animals on Instagram, Jota received a playful jab from his teammate Alisson. The Liverpool goalkeeper couldn’t resist taking a light-hearted dig, commenting on the post: “Dr Dolittle 😂,” in a humorous reference to the fictional character known for his ability to communicate with animals.
Jota is just one of many notable visitors to the zoo, with Chelsea’s Reece James and Mason Mount making the most of Belhasa’s hospitality last year. Other football stars like Paul Pogba, Luka Modric, David Luiz, and Lionel Messi have also paid visits in the past.
While Jota clearly relished his time away, he’ll be eager to return to the pitch for the final stretch of the season. The forward has thrived in the absence of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are currently competing in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Jota’s recent performances have been impressive, notably scoring twice in the 2-0 Carabao Cup second leg semi-final victory against Arsenal earlier this month. This brings his total to 14 goals in 28 games across all competitions this season.
However, the recent £50 million signing of Luis Diaz may provide Jota with more competition for playing time at Anfield. Diaz, who arrived from Porto, Jota’s former club, was secured by Liverpool after hijacking Tottenham’s attempt to sign the forward.
