Julian Alvarez prioritizes moving to Real Madrid
Striker Julian Alvarez wants to leave Man City, with the top priority being to join Real Madrid, but it is unlikely to happen in the summer of 2024.
According to Athletic , Alvarez wants to leave Man City in the summer of 2024, and has spoken to other clubs. Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and PSG are all interested in the Argentina striker, while Man City wants a fee of about 90 million USD. However, no team has yet made an offer to the Manchester club.

Alvarez’s priority is to join Real, although the reason he wants to leave Man City is to find more playing opportunities, instead of just being Erling Haaland’s double in important matches.
After recruiting Kylian Mbappe, Real has no intention of adding an attacking player, because they already have Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Endrick and Jude Bellingham, not to mention supporting players like Joselu, Brahim Diaz or Arda Guler. President Florentino Perez also plans to bring Florian Wirtz back from Leverkusen in the summer of 2025.
Alvarez has dreamed of joining Real since he was a child. Before joining River Plate’s training facility at the age of 16, he tried out at Real and scored two goals in five matches in a youth tournament. However, at that time the Spanish club did not want to sign an official contract with Alvarez, forcing him to return to River Plate.
Another possibility that could help Alvarez go to Real is that Rodrygo decides to leave. However, the 23-year-old striker once said after winning the 2024 Champions League that he had no reason to leave the Royal Club. Alvarez will still have to wait for his fate with Real.
Alvarez still played 54 matches for Man City last season, including 36 Premier League matches. However, he had to be a substitute in important matches, such as the two quarter-finals against Real, and the final matches of the Premier League season. The 24-year-old striker has won many major titles in his career, such as the World Cup, Copa America, Champions League, Premier League or Copa Libertadores. If he joins Real, his number of major titles could increase significantly.
