STALLED THREE LIONS: Jude Bellingham scores early for England, Trent-Arnold’s free kick is poorly executed

Jude Bellingham became the second player to score in both the World Cup and European Championship before turning 21, netting the opening goal against Serbia at Euro 2024.

The Real Madrid midfielder headed in Bukayo Saka’s cross in the 13th minute of the Group C match, marking England’s first goal in Germany. Bellingham joins Michael Owen, who scored at the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship before his 21st birthday.

The 20-year-old became the first European player to participate in three major international tournaments before turning 21 and is also the first Three Lions player to score at both the World Cup and European Championship while playing for a club outside of England.

His goal, scored at 12 minutes and 11 seconds, is the fastest Serbia have conceded in a European Championship since Frank Arnesen’s goal at seven minutes and five seconds in their 1984 match against Denmark.
