Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin apologised to the Ukrainian fans after his performance in their 3-0 loss to Romania
Lunin was visibly upset after he played a part in 2 of the 3 goals they conceded
The Real Madrid keeper will be hoping to bounce back against Slovakia on Friday
Despite being the team that was rated higher before entering the match, Ukraine was ultimately disappointed when they lost 0-3 to their opponents. Lunin made a mistake in Romania’s opening goal. The goalkeeper born in 1999 had a bad clearance, sending the ball right to Dennis Man’s feet. This player then made a pass for Nicolae Stanciu to score a superb goal to give Romania the lead.

After the break, Ukraine lost the second goal and Lunin should have done better to prevent Razvan Marin’s shot. 4 minutes later, the Romanian team got their third goal thanks to Denis Dragus from a close-range kick.
Speaking to COPE, Andriy Lunin shared: “I apologize to my teammates, my mistake complicated the match. All I can say is sorry and come back for the next match .”
