During the Dodgers’ game against the White Sox on Wednesday, the bat boy for the team leapt into action to retrieve a foul ball that was hit hard, and his reaction was amazing.

Shohei Ohtani seemed to be the target of the ball, but luckily the bat boy had deft hands. The amazing grab was captured on camera, and it has since gone viral.

Social media users praised Ohtani’s interpreter Will Ireton’s response as well.

He only nodded his head, as if he was going about his business, following the quick catch.

The White Sox were defeated 4-0 by the Dodgers. Ohtani extended his RBI streak to a franchise-record 10 games by hitting a leadoff drive for the second consecutive night.

This season, Shohei Ohtani is lacking one vital component from his arsenal: his pitching. Nonetheless, the outstanding player for the Los Angeles Dodgers is one of the contenders for the National League MVP title. Should he succeed, he’ll make history as the first designated hitter to win the esteemed award solely based on offensive ability.

In the game against the Chicago White Sox, he recently scored runs when he launched a 437-foot home run in the leadoff spot off White Sox starter Erick Fedde. LA prevailed 4-0 that evening. They will play division rivals San Francisco Giants over the weekend following a day off on Thursday.
