Chaos at Copa America: Uruguayan star Darwin Nunez fights with Colombian fans after missing Messi match

Colombia won against Uruguay in the semi-finals of Copa America 2024, thereby winning a ticket to the final match against Argentina.

Remarkably, Uruguay’s defeat to Colombia ended in an extremely ugly way when Nunez fought with fans in the stands.

Accordingly, Nunez and Araujo, along with other players and many members of the Uruguayan coaching staff, rushed into the stands to fight with Colombian fans. The Colombian fans also reacted fiercely, leading to a melee with Uruguayan fans.

The Liverpool striker swung his arm at some aggressive Colombian fans in front of him. Objects were thrown back and forth, including drinks and food, adding to the chaos.

According to MARCA, after the match between Uruguay and Colombia, seeing his relatives in the stands being attacked by Colombian fans, Darwin Nunez and his teammates lost their composure and rushed into the stands where the incident happened.

Accordingly, relatives of some Uruguayan players were also injured by objects thrown at them. Uruguayan fans were also seriously injured in the brawl, due to being attacked by the overwhelming number of Colombian fans.

Before that, not only in the stands, on the field, Colombian and Uruguayan players also had a fight after the referee blew the whistle to end the match.
