“… I wasn’t feeling well that morning. While I was resting at home, the phone rang – it was Vanja from the agency, she wanted to talk about the apartment offers. Although I was very concerned that she called me at that moment, I was in really bad shape and all I could do was ask her to call me again, but in the evening. She agreed. From that moment on, I couldn’t stop thinking about this conversation. I knew this was just an opportunity that I cannot waste. Fortunately, in the evening I felt better! I was terribly offered when she called, although of course I didn’t show it. She introduced herself, we exchanged some initial information, I admitted that I saw her sometimes. Then she started talking about the apartments and she suggested that I should see them when I return to Zagreb. If the topic of the apartments remained the only topic of this conversation, we would have to say goodbye quickly, so I did my best to hold the conversation. We talked about everything, about her work, about other players, about the club, about my life in Zagreb. I felt that she relaxed and that made our conversation lasted three hours! I was delighted. Not because we talked like we had known each other for a hundred years. I was infatuated with her. I really liked her energy and way of thinking. I was happy that at the end of the conversation we made an appointment after my return to the capital – of course, the pretext was my search for an apartment, but for me the awareness of seeing her was something! I unconsciously believed that our three hours of conversation was not a meaningless fact, and even then I had a feeling that it might be something serious …”

She didn’t care at all that I had practically nothing. She had an economics degree while I had only just finished evening gastronomy school, but she never mentioned it in our conversations. I wanted to tell everyone how lucky I was. That I love such a wonderful person and that she loves me as Luka, not a professional footballer. One day someone broke into my apartment. From that moment on, I didn’t like being there.
