Journalist Fabrizio Romano continues to provide more information about Chelsea selling Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid.
Conor Gallagher has just one year left on his Chelsea contract and the London club certainly do not want to see him leave on a free transfer next summer.
Gallagher has given no indication that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge, but he has consistently rejected offers of a new contract, so the Blues must act.
Selling Gallagher this summer would help Chelsea ease the financial burden of complying with the Premier League’s Sustainability and Profitability Code.
Chelsea agree to sell Conor to Atletico for 40 million euros.
Most recently, journalist Fabrizio Romano said: ” More information on the exclusive story of Conor Gallagher. The deal was made between Atléeico and Chelsea since yesterday, the fee is around 40 million euros.
Conor will have to make a decision soon. He was offered a new three-year contract in June, which would have put him on par with the highest earners in Chelsea’s midfield.
The transfer now depends on Conor’s decision.”
