Liverpool defender Joel Matip and his pregnant wife Larissa Stollenwerk are soaking up the sun on a Mykonos beach as they enjoy a vacation before the arrival of their second child

After a successful Premier League season, Liverpool defender Joel Matip is enjoying a well-earned break. On Thursday, he and his pregnant wife, Larissa Stollenwerk, took a sunny retreat to Branco Beach in Mykonos.

Ripped: Liverpool FC star Joel Matip headed straight to the beach with his pregnant wife Larissa Stollenwerk as they enjoyed a sunny getaway to Mykonos on Thursday

The 31-year-old German centre-back showed off his shirtless figure as he strolled along the beach with Larissa, who is expecting their second child. Larissa proudly displayed her baby bump in a plunging black bikini with a shimmering gold overlay.

Married since 2020, Matip and Larissa welcomed their first child, a son, in June 2021, with Larissa sharing a photo of their newborn on Instagram.

Wow! Larissa proudly showed off her growing bump in a plunging black bikini with a shimmering gold overlay as she and Joel took a stroll along the sands

She captioned her post: “He’s everything I never knew I needed. I love you.”

Last month, Larissa revealed she and her husband are expecting their second child by sharing a beautiful black-and-white photo of her growing bump, with the caption: “No.2 #babyisloading.”

Reports suggest Liverpool may look to sell Matip this summer, given he has made nearly 200 appearances for the club. With only a year left on his contract, this summer represents the Reds’ last opportunity to sell Matip before he potentially leaves on a free transfer in 2024.

In 2021, Joel declined an offer to return to international football, according to Cameroon manager Toni Conceicao. Conceicao had invited all active Cameroonian players who had previously opted out since his appointment in 2019.

Despite being one of the country’s most prominent players, Matip, who hasn’t played for Cameroon since 2015, chose to remain out of the international setup.
