Roberto Firmino’s wife, Larissa Firmino, shared a heartfelt statement following the striker’s departure from Liverpool FC.
Married to the Brazilian footballer since 2017, Larissa has witnessed Firmino’s rise to club legend status during his eight unforgettable years with the Reds.
In his final appearance, the former number nine was chosen by Jurgen Klopp to play in a thrilling 4-4 draw against Southampton. Firmino marked the occasion by scoring the team’s second goal before being substituted in the 57th minute.
Liverpool supporters have always cherished the Brazilian, who will be remembered as one of the most iconic players to wear the red shirt. Larissa took to Instagram to express that the feeling was mutual, admitting that saying goodbye was painful.
She expressed: “We’ve come to the end. We are leaving with hearts overflowing with love. This made the farewell even more painful, causing us to miss everything before we even said goodbye. But this love also drove us to relive it all, to do everything the same way, to truly give our all, to truly love, and to give ourselves completely.
“Liverpool showed me that love is worth it. Thank you, fans, thank you, LFC, thank you to everyone who was part of this journey. We will never forget you.”
