The Portugal international has pledged his allegiance to AC Milan despite rumours that he will leave the Serie A club in the summer. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing the player ahead of the 2024/25 season, but Leao has stated that he remains committed to the Rossoneri. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Leao stated, “My future is in Milan.” I’m here, and I still have a four-year contract. Milan assisted me when I was in a critical situation; they were close to me. I don’t forget that I’m loyal. I arrived as a boy and grew up to be a man and a football player. “I want to win again; my head is here.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
PSG has reportedly identified Leao as a potential replacement for their talisman, Kylian Mbappe, who is set to leave the club at the end of the current season to join Real Madrid. In addition to the Portuguese attacker, they have Napoli’s Victor Osimhen on their shortlist. Chelsea is also interested in signing the 24-year-old as they look to bolster their attack following another disappointing season.
