The centre-back has earned a spot in the annual XI, chosen by the country’s professional players, for the fourth time since joining Liverpool in January 2018. Van Dijk was previously selected in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
During the last season, the Netherlands captain made 36 appearances in the league and scored twice, helping Liverpool secure a third-place finish in the Premier League and a return to the Champions League. In his first year as Liverpool’s captain, Van Dijk also scored the decisive goal in extra time, leading the Reds to a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final in February.
His inclusion in the 2023-24 PFA Premier League Team of the Year was announced at the 2024 PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester this evening.

Last season, Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah was also voted Premier League Player of the Year by the PFA.

Meanwhile, the Young Player of the Year award was presented to Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.
