According to Mundo Deportivo, the Red Devils are looking to recruit the player who only moved to Camp Nou in January.
In the January transfer window, Barcelona spent 30 million euros plus 31 million euros in additional fees to bring potential attacking star Vitor Roque to Camp Nou.
The Brazilian star promised to become the new goalscorer at Camp Nou. However, things did not go as he expected when coach Xavi continued to use Robert Lewandowski as a striker.
Barca have not decided on Roque’s future.
Roque only started twice in La Liga last season and speculation about the former Athletico-PR talent’s future has been rife. Although Hansi Flick has been appointed as Xavi’s replacement, he has yet to make any concrete plans for the promising striker.
Some speculation in Spain suggests that Barca want Roque to leave the club on loan to develop himself. And that move has attracted interest from Manchester United.
The Old Trafford team needed a plan to share the scoring responsibility with Rasmus Hojlund in the new season. Therefore, they decided to put Roque in their sights.
Mundo Deportivo reports that the Red Devils have contacted Vitor Roque’s representatives to assess a possible summer transfer. The newspaper did not mention a price, but if Man Utd want to buy Roque instead of loaning him out, Barca will offer more than the 40 million euros they paid for the Samba star.
