Phil Foden Favored at 2/1 for PFA Player of the Year Award with Sky Bet Following Impressive Season at Man City, Surpassing Team-mate Rodri Before Real Madrid Claʂh
Phil Foden is playing the best football of his Manchester City career, and his play is setting him up for a number of individual awards.
The 23-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League. In the Champions League, he has added four goals and three assists.
He scored a hat-trick in City’s most recent match against Aston Villa, a 4-1 victory, and his outstanding performances have made him a vital part of Pep Guardiola’s team, which is attempting to win the triple for the second time in a row this season.
As one of England’s best chances of winning Euro 2024, which takes place in Germany this summer, Foden is also expected to be called up to Gareth Southgate’s final team.
In Tuesday night’s Champions League quarterfinal matchup between Man City and the Spanish powerhouses at the Bernabeu, Foden is getting ready to travel to Madrid. He should be one of City’s key threats.
At the end of the season, he will face stiff competition to win the prized PFA Player of the Year title due to some outstanding performances from several talents, including Declan Rice, Mohamed Salah, Rodri, Virgil van Dijk, and Bukayo Saka.
Although Foden’s Man City teammate Rodri was the early favorite last month, Foden’s outstanding performances have put him ahead of the Spaniard, and Sky Bet now has him at odds of 2/1 to win.
At 5/2, Rodri is currently the second favorite, with Rice trailing at 4/1.
At 7/1, Van Dijk is in fourth place, followed by Salah at 9/1 and Saka at 10/1.
Erling Haaland (16/1), Martin Odegaard (22/1), Ollie Watkins (33/1), and Alexis Mac Allister (20/1) are the underdogs for the prize.
