Ballon d’Or: England’s Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Cole Palmer shortlisted

England’s Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Cole Palmer nominated ballons d’or.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi both miss the shortlist for the first time since 2003; Lamine Yamal of Barcelona and Spain, 17, is younger-ever nominee and surpasses Kylian Mbappe; Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are contenders for the Kopa Trophy.

Men’s Ballon d’Or nominees for England include Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Cole Palmer.

The youngest-ever nominee for the prize is seventeen-year-old Lamine Yamal of Barcelona, who supported Spain’s Euro final victory over England. He exceeds record-holder Kylian Mbappe, age 18.

Winners of all but one of the last 14 Ballons d’Or, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have both missed out on a nomination for the first time since 2003.

Together with their England teammates, Man City and Arsenal had four nominations each including Rodri, Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias, William Saliba, and Martin Odegaard.

The remaining Premier League players on the list are Chelsea’s Palmer and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who won the honor given to the top goalkeeper last year.
