Freddie Freeman’s wife, Chelsea, and their three sons including youngest, Maximus, were present for the Dodgers’ game against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. This marks the first time the entire Freeman family was at the Dodger Stadium since Max fell ill due to Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Maximus was diagnosed with the life-thretening illness in the last week of July. At the time, Freeman was on a road trip to Houston but rushed home, leaving the series against the Astros. In an update shared on August 1 on both of their Instagram accounts, the couple stated that Max’s condition had deteriorated, with his entire body going into paralysis and necessitating an ICU admission.

After 8 days in the ICU, Maximus was able to recover and return home. In another subsequent update shared on Chelsea’s account, she noted that Maximus was on the full path to recovery.

Things seem to have gone in the right direction for the Freemans as they were seen back at their usual self cheering on the Dodgers first baseman during his game against the Guardians. All four of them could be seen wearing either Dodgers apparel or tees with the caption ‘Max Strong’.

Freddie Freeman draws blank for fourth straight game

Freddie Freeman went 1-3 with one walk and two strikeouts in the game on Saturday. His single came in the seventh inning on a 95 mph sinker to right field. The Dodgers secured a solid 7-2 win thanks to 6-run second innings and will look to seal the series against the AL Central team on Sunday.

Despite a strong start to September, where he posted a .333 average with five RBIs and two home runs, Freeman hasn’t been able to turn in a run in his last four games. In fact all of those 5 RBIs came in the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Since then Freddie Freeman has been able to record four hits and three walks, which has kept his month’s OPS to a high 1.101. The Dodgers will need him at his best as the postseason approaches.
