Erling Haaland has been a machine for Man City for over 2 years. The Norwegian striker has dominated the Premier League’s Golden Boot in the last 2 seasons. In the 2024/25 season, the 24-year-old striker started explosively, scoring 9 goals in just 4 rounds.

However, Haaland is not the world’s top scorer under 30. To date, Haaland has scored a total of 266 goals for club and country Norway. This is an incredible number but only enough to put him in second place, behind Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe is one year older than Haaland and has scored 336 goals since his professional debut. The Real Madrid new boy has scored 288 goals for his club and 48 for France. Mbappe’s club goals have come mainly with PSG, where he has been for 7 years.

Mbappe joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer from PSG. The Les Bleus captain started quite smoothly at the Bernabeu, scoring 5 goals in all competitions. However, for this impressive start, Mbappe had to thank Vinicius , the player who let him take 2 penalties.

Third on the list is Flamengo striker Gabigol. The 28-year-old Brazilian has scored 247 goals. Next is Heart’s Lawrence Shankland, who has scored 211 goals for club and country Scotland.

The next positions in the top 10 are Raheem Sterling (193 goals), Alfredo Morelos (188), Lautaro Martinez (185), Timo Werner (177), Afif (174), Rauno Sappinen (172). Thus, there are 5 players in the list from the top 5 European leagues.

Martinez, Werner and Sterling are all approaching 30 and will almost certainly not be able to catch Mbappe. The French striker still has 5 years left to strive and set an unprecedented scoring record.
