Former player Jamie Carragher was thrilled with Federico Chiesa’s performance in the match against West Ham. The new signing made his first start for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third-round clash this morning, where he provided an assist during his 59 minutes on the pitch.
His performance certainly thrilled many Liverpool fans, including Jamie Carragher, who remarked that Chiesa played as if he were worth £80 million. Carragher told Sky Sports, “Chiesa was an £80m player a few years ago. He showed flashes of that today.”
Liverpool World rated Chiesa’s performance a 6 out of 10 for his contributions against West Ham, noting: “He may have missed with a volley attempt, but he didn’t mind when the ball found Jota, leading to the equalizer.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool.com gave the Italian a 7/10 rating, naming him one of the standout players in the team’s 5-1 victory.
