It was a trying season for Mike Trout. His team once again floundered to a dismal finish, and Trout couldn’t stay healthy. He has suffered major injuries for the last few years, and he only played 29 games before a torn meniscus ended his season.
Trout did have 10 home runs in those 29 games, accumulating 1.1 bWAR and a 140 OPS+. He was having another good season before it came to an end.
On Tuesday, Trout took to Instagram to thank the fans, alongside his wife Jessica Trout and their two children, for their longstanding support.

He captioned his post:
“This year has been filled with challenges, but also incredible blessings for our family. Thanks to my teammates and fans for your support as I continue to work hard towards a successful 2025!”
Trout’s wife Jessica gave birth to their second child during the season, so it was a positive time for their family even if the Los Angeles Angels were bad and the star outfielder wasn’t playing.
It was yet another difficult season for the team and the player, which again sparked trade rumors. Through it all, fans have persisted and for that, the three-time MVP is grateful.
Mike Trout open to moving positions in 2025
Next year brings hope of a better year for the Los Angeles Angels and Mike Trout. If he can recover well and stay healthy, it should be a better MLB season for both parties. That may also entail a position change.
As Trout ages and his body suffers more wear and tear, a corner outfield spot becomes much more enticing. The star player has been a center fielder for his entire career, but he’s not against moving over now that he’s older.

Via MLB Trade Rumors, the slugger said:
“I think there’s definitely going to be some conversations in the offseason. It’s reality. I know I have a certain amount of years on my deal and I knew when I signed my contract, I’d eventually move to a corner. But is it next year? I don’t know. But we’ll have conversations.”
He added that everything was an option to keep himself on the field, including DHing more or moving to the corner to cover less ground in the outfield.
