As reported by The Sun, John Arne Riise sent messages to 15 women back in 2005.
Riise was a prominent name in English football, particularly during his tenure at Liverpool. The former Norwegian player gained recognition as part of The Kop and famously won the Champions League in 2005 while at the club.
In 2008, he left Liverpool to join AS Roma and went on to play for clubs such as Fulham and APOEL.
In addition to his successful career on the pitch, Riise has attracted attention for his complicated personal life. Recently, The Sun revealed details about the 45-year-old ex-footballer’s private affairs.
It came to light that in 2005, Riise sent identical messages to 15 different women. One of his text messages included the following:
“Good evening… After inquiring with several people for your contact details, I finally received it. To me, you are a cute, charming girl with great charisma.”
“Hopefully, we can meet. I’d love to invite you to a romantic evening just for the two of us. Sending you kisses from John Arne Riise.”
Riise contacted 15 women in Norway, many of whom were former beauty queens and models. Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten noted that one of his ‘targets’ was former Miss Universe Mona Grudt.
