An NBA star talks about Giannis Antetokounmpo after Greece’s loss to Spain.
When you know the NBA season is about to start!!! πͺπΎπ€π₯
Giannis Antetokounmpo, a star player for the Milwaukee Bucks, is playing for Greece in the Paris Olympics. The two-time MVP has played well in Paris, but his team has lost both of its Group Phase games. In that game, they lost to Spain on Tuesday, and Antetokounmpo scored 27 points, which was the most of any player.
Forward Santi Aldama of the Memphis Grizzlies was Spain’s best player in this game. He scored 19 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, gave out two assists, and blocked three shots. Aldama is the leader of Spain’s Olympic team and has played in the NBA for a long time. This big win over Spain showed why.
Aldama played very well and helped his team win, but Giannis Antetokounmpo dunk the ball over him. Aldama was put on a sign because he was late to help the Bucks star at the basket.
“There’s no real strategy, but for us, it was just packing the paint, being physical, and being in front of him,” Aldama told reporters after the game (via BasketNews). He’s a great player and has won MVP awards many times. There’s no way to stop him. As I already said, I think the word that best describes the game is “courage.”
When Antetokounmpo made the dunk, Aldama told BasketNews, “It’s hard, especially with a guy like him. Posters and all that kind of stuff.” Just try to make a play on defense. You can move out of the way or try to block the shot. You only block it once every ten times, but I tried.”
