Giannis Antetokounmpo exudes a profound sense of pride: ‘It’s an unparalleled experience to participate while representing 10 million Greeks’

“It’s different to play for 10 million Greeks,” Giannis Antetokounmpo says with pride.

It was important for Greece to bat Australia in order to keep their hopes alive of making it to the Olympic Quarterfinals, and Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered.

After the game, he stopped by the mixed zone in Lille and talked about his feelings. It was his first Olympic win.

“I feel great.” I believe we played very well in all three games. We lost the first two games. We played great basketball and fought very hard, but in the end, the difference was the difference. “I was proud of the team against Canada and Spain,” he began.

“We knew we had a job to do when we came out today.” We did not wish to finish this event without a win. Even though we didn’t win, we thought we were a very, very good team. All three games have been close. I don’t think this is the first game where we didn’t fght until the end. He said this about the game against Australia: “I think we played so hard in the first 20 minutes that we didn’t have as much energy to give in the second half.”
