Norway lost heavily 1-5, and Haaland skipped the intҽrviҽw then apologized to the fans

Striker Erling Haaland has just suffered a heavy defeat with the Norwegian national team in the Nations League. Notably, they lost to Austria, their direct competitor, with a score of 1-5.

The Norwegian national team faced Austria in an important match in Group B3 of the Nations League. This group is very tense when Norway, Austria and Slovenia all have the chance to be promoted to League A.

In the last match, striker Erling Haaland wore the captain’s armband for the Norwegian national team. However, the Manchester City star did not perform as well as usual, when he did not score a goal, despite playing the full 90 minutes. Norway’s “honor” goal was scored by striker Sorloth.

The Austrian national team showed their superior strength in this match when they defeated Norway with a score of 5-1, completely extinguishing Haaland and his teammates’ hopes of gaining points.

Haaland was not in good form throughout the match and after the match, he chose to avoid interviews with the media. Although asked to share about his own performance as well as the whole team’s performance, he still walked through the press interview area without giving any answers.

Haaland is facing strong criticism from home fans after his controversial behavior. Public pressure forced him to apologize on his personal Instagram page. In the post, Haaland admitted: “Sorry fans, this is really my fault. In November, we will have 6 points.”

In the context of the Norwegian team having just experienced a day of unsatisfactory competition, teammate Sander Berge spoke up to defend Erling Haaland. Berge said: “Haaland has the right to express his feelings. You can clearly feel our disappointment after a bad day of competition. However, the important thing is that we are always a team, together overcoming all the ups and downs. The Norwegian team needs to unite and focus on the upcoming matches.”
