Giannis Antetokounmpo suggests that he might be traded if the team fails to secure a championship

Giannis Antetokounmpo: I could be traded if we don’t win a title.

Giannis Antetokounmpo believes that if the Bucks don’t win another title, he “may get traded.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo believes that the Milwaukee Bucks’ core might be made or broken by the upcoming season.

If Antetokounmpo can’t lead his club to another championship this season, he’s ready for the worst. In 2021, he led the Bucks to their first NBA championship in 50 years.

Antetokounmpo said to The Athletic, “Yeah, if we don’t win a championship, I might get traded.” “We live and work for this. This is the world in which we exist. Everyone is affected. If you don’t succeed at any given time, that could mean the end for us. You’re out if your work isn’t excellent enough.”

After acquiring Damian Lillard in October 2023, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are starting their second season together. Milwaukee’s 49-33 record placed them third in the Eastern Conference the previous season, but they were eliminated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs by the Indiana Pacers.

With a player option for the 2027–2028 campaign, Antetokounmpo inked a three-year, $186 million contract extension with the Bucks in 2023. This season, he is owed $48.7 million, and the next, $54.1 million.
