Jack Grealish: Resurrected from the depths of despair

Jack Grealish had an impressive performance, contributing greatly to England’s 3-1 victory over Finland, in the fourth match of Group B2 of the UEFA Nations League this year.

After the humiliating 1-2 defeat to Greece at Wembley a few days ago, interim coach Lee Carsley made some personnel adjustments, notably the return of captain Harry Kane. In addition, Dean Henderson, Kyle Walker, Marc Guehi, Angel Gomes, and Jack Grealish started from the start.

Jack Grealish opened the scoring (18th minute), with a perfect run and shot past goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky, after a delicate through ball from Angel Gomes. Grealish was also one of the most impressive players on the England team in this match.

In addition to placing Grealish on the left wing, Lee Carsley also arranged his student to play in the role of an attacking midfielder. The player who grew up in the Aston Villa training camp is versatile, and when needed, can even play as a real striker.

At his parent club Manchester City, Jack Grealish is also having encouraging performances. In the Premier League alone, he started 4 matches (and came off the bench 2 times) after 7 rounds, had 1 assist, completed 1.3 successful dribbles, passed accurately at 89%, and created 2.0 decisive passes per 90 minutes.
