Erling Haaland’s Touching Tribute: A Throwback Photo Honoring His Late Grandmother Resonates with Heartfelt Emotions

After his grandma passed away earlier this month, Erling Haaland shared a snapshot of the two of them on Instagram.

On February 10, the day that Haaland scored twice in Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Everton, Tone Rasdal, the mother of Haaland’s father Alfie, passed away in a nursing home in Norway at the age of 80.

Two weeks later, a distraught Haaland posted a picture of himself and Rasdal as teenagers on Instagram over the weekend.

He added two emojis to the Instagram story: a dove and a heart.

Alfie, one of Rasdal’s four children, would go on to play in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, Manchester City.

Haaland has continued to play for City in recent weeks following his grandmother's death

Haaland has continued to play for City in recent weeks following his grandmother’s passing.

After thriving in England for the previous 18 months, her grandson is currently among the Premier League’s top players.

Haaland, who has two siblings, a sister named Gabrielle and a brother named Astor, has had another fantastic season for City, adding 22 goals from 29 games this season to his 52 goals from 53 games the previous year.

The 23-year-old played in a 3-1 Champions League match against Copenhagen just three days after the death of his grandmother, but he wasted several excellent opportunities in City’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea the previous Saturday.

Last Tuesday, Haaland scored the game-winning goal in his team’s 1-0 victory over Brentford after bouncing back. Pep Guardiola responded to critics of the forward by pointing out that he had been going through a difficult time off the field.

Top strikers have a high goal-scoring rate. Guardiola remarked, “Don’t criticize because he will shut your mouth.”

Eventually, he will arrive. He missed two months of work. The loss of his grandmother has made for an extremely difficult week for him.

“He’s not in the best of shape, and it’s not easy for a human being.” Erling is essential in games such as Brentford.

Haaland’s effort was deflected into Phil Foden’s path for the game-winning goal in City’s 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.
