Like many baseball fans across the globe, NFL legend Tom Brady is looking forward to the potentially iconic World Series matchup between the New York Yankees and LA Dodgers. While Brady may be masking his true feeling about which team he is cheeering for, the former quarterback said that he was hoping to see a lengthy, hard-fought battle between both clubs.

Tom Brady was joined by his former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on an epsiode of Let’s Go with Jim Gray. The seven-time Super Bowl champion, who has heavy ties to the Boston-area, said that he was hoping for a seven-game showdown, however, he possibly suggested that he wouldn’t mind seeing the New York Yankees crown as World Series champions.
“I’m rooting for a seven game series. I don’t know if I’m rooting for anyone but it’s pretty great when the Yankees win it,” Tom Brady said of his hopes for the 2024 World Series.
The former quarterback of the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers grew up cheering for the San Francisco Giants since they were his hometown club. Perhaps that is why he may have subtlely sided with the New York Yankees since the LA Dodgers are one of the Giants biggest rivals.
“What a great series. Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, you’ve got all the stars. This is one I think alot of people are going to be watching, I can’t wait to watch,” Brady continued.
While Brady may not have directly said what team he was going to be siding with throughout the World Series, he did acknowleged the potential of it becoming an instant classic thanks to the stars involved. From Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge, to Juan Soto and Mookie Betts, there is no shortage of superstars for fans, and even Tom Brady, to enjoy.

While it is difficult to deny Brady’s status of being the greatest quarterback in NFL history, things could have been different had he taken the baseball route. Brady was originally selected by the the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB draft.

Although Brady decided to pursue his NFL career, he was considered a talented catching propect. Some, including Montreal Expos General Manager Kevin Malone, believed that Tom Brady could have been a world class MLB catcher. Despite the praise, I think winning the most Super Bowl rings in history may have been the right decision.
