Ibrahima Konate expresses his feelings about RB Leipzig honoring Dominik Szoboszlai while overlooking him on the day they both made their return

Ahead of the Liverpool match, RB Leipzig paid tribute exclusively to Dominik Szoboszlai, leaving Ibrahima Konate feeling overlooked.

During Liverpool’s 1-0 win against RB Leipzig, Konate returned to his former stadium alongside Szoboszlai. While the Hungarian midfielder was warmly celebrated by his old club, Konate received no recognition and was not honored in any official capacity.

Szoboszlai had spent three seasons at RB Leipzig before making the move to Liverpool. His contributions to the team were acknowledged with a heartfelt tribute, including a special presentation of a Red Bull statuette—a symbolic gift recognizing his time at the club.

In contrast, Konate was a key player in RB Leipzig’s defense for four seasons from 2017 to 2021.

Throughout his tenure, he played a crucial role in helping the team achieve consistent top-3 finishes in the Bundesliga and was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League—one of the club’s significant milestones.
