Rodri’s Amazing Rise: From Being Turned Down by the Football Academy to Football Glory
He was born and raised in the middle of Madrid, where his devotion to Atletico Madrid was drilled into him from a young age. As a child, he did a great job of balancing his love of schoolwork with his love of sports. When he was young, he joined the Atletico Madrid school and became close with the Hernandez brothers, Lucas and Theo. They became so close that they were affectionately called “the family.”
Rodri had setbacks in his growth, which led to what his family saw as an unfair dismissal from the academy. Theo and Lucas did well at the club. But his love for Atletico Madrid never went away, and he was still set on showing them what he could do. He found a new way through Villarreal and showed off his skills, which earned him a return to Atletico Madrid.
Rodri’s career hit its peak at Manchester City, where he achieved his biggest career goals while playing for Pep Guardiola’s team.
